Sales Information

Direct sales to individuals are welcomed and encouraged. Dealing direct ensures punctual service for both new products and repairs. Coan Engineering also offers a very profitable dealer program available to retail shops that meet minimum stipulations including proof of business. New dealer accounts require a minimum initial purchase.

Terms of Payment

Any parts or services required from Coan Engineering must have payment remitted by means of cash, cashiers check, money order, personal check, or credit card. Any orders requesting COD shipment must present a cashier’s check for payment. All other orders must be prepaid. Pre-payment by means of cashier’s check will provide immediate shipment and/or initiation of services. Pre-payment by means of personal check or money order will be subject to a 10 working day processing period. Pre-payment by means of credit card, Master Card, Visa, or Discover will also provide immediate shipment and/or initiation of services providing a successful authorization and security check of the card is obtained. Under no circumstances will exceptions to these terms be granted, Coan Engineering maintains no open accounts. Established Jobber accounts may be eligible to remit by means of Company Check pending prior approval.


All orders excluding transmissions are shipped United Parcel Service (UPS), or Federal Express (FedEx) unless otherwise noted or specified. Transmissions are shipped via truck freight. All orders shipped F.O.B., Kokomo Indiana.

Part Return Policy

Return authorization is required for any merchandise wishing to be returned. New and unused parts may be returned up to 30 days from date of purchase for refund or credit. All returns are subject to a 15% restocking fee. Any non-stocking parts such as custom build or special order equipment may not be returned. All returns must be submitted with an original Coan Engineering invoice in the name of the person returning the product. Coan Engineering accepts no responsibility for freight charges on any returned items.

Core Charges

All transmissions have various core charges that must be added to their respective prices. Payment for returned cores would be made after the transmission has been inspected and determined to be rebuildable. Core returns are accepted for 30 days from the date of purchase. All cores must be of the same configuration as the transmission purchased.


Coan Engineering will be handling all NHRA contingency claims directly with racers in 2015 instead of through the NHRA administered program.

Coan Engineering will post contingency for both an eliminator Win or Runner-Up at all NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing Series national events and Lucas Oil Series divisional events for racers utilizing a complete Coan Transmission or Torque Converter.

Successful racers must contact Coan Engineering to initiate their claim. Racers will be asked to complete a contingency verification form and provide a photo of their winning vehicle displaying the proper Coan decals.

Warranty (90 Day)

Coan Engineering offers a limited warranty covering all new products for ninety days and all repair service for thirty days from the original date of purchase to be free from flaws in material and craftsmanship. The warranty is non-transferable. Under no circumstances will Coan Engineering extend its warranty to products, new or repaired, which have been abused, misused, or incorrectly installed. Disassembly of any product by means other than a Coan Engineering technician will void any potential warranty. All warranty claims must be accompanied by the original invoice and are subject to the approval of Coan Engineering.

Warranty (One Year)

Coan Engineering offers a limited warranty covering certain new planetary gear sets and input shafts for a period of one year from the date of purchase. Products falling under this classification are subject to the same warranty guidelines as listed above. A one-year warranty applies to the following PG planetary part #’s: 12711, 12715, 12721, 12721A, 12753, 12758, 12760, 12760A, and PG input shaft part #: 12805.


In no manner, neither written nor implied, does Coan Engineering accept liability for consequential or incidental damages to person or property resulting from the use or misuse of its products. Product failure occurring within the stipulations of the warranty policy will be dealt with explicitly under those particular guidelines.
